Cooking club FAQ

The teacher will send a survey to all parents and find a suitable time that will suit the children, minding the time zones of the students who applied. The workshops happen in the early or late afternoon, depending on the teacher.

The topics will be listed on this page every month, but your child will practice all four language skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing) regardless of the monthly topic. The workshops are for children aged 5-12.

The maximum number of students in one group is 6, as we prefer to have small groups.

Yes, the children will get a diploma they can use as proof of extracurricular activities.

Little Chefs Club: Coming soon

  • Fluffy pancakes 101 (Learning how to describe typical cooking ingredients, utensils and measurements in English)

Learn to cook simple meals and explore food from different cultures. The activities are:

  • Independent and student-directed.
  • Encouraging investigation, exploration, and discovery.
  • Focused on building digital skills by using interactive digital materials.
  • Focused on building practical cooking skills.
  • Contextual and communicative in order to promote the acquisition of grammar structures.

These workshops will help children listen and react to important instructions including big numbers, different units of measurement and time. We will practice our writing and reading skills whilst making our taste books and by the end of the course, we will be able to use English confidently within the kitchen.

Little Chefs: Italy

Learn to cook classic and modern dishes and explore the food and food culture in Italy. The activities are:

  • Independent and student-directed (children will be able to vote on what to cook when).
  • Encouraging investigation, exploration, and discovery.
  • Focused on building digital skills by using interactive digital recipes.
  • Focused on building practical cooking skills.
  • Contextual and communicative in order to promote the acquisition of grammar structures.

These classes will help children to listen and react to important instructions including big numbers, different units of measurement and time. We will practise our writing and reading skills whilst making our taste books and by the end of the course, we will be able to use English confidently within the kitchen and understand some of the differences between Western and Asian cuisine.

  • Let’s go to Italy! (Here will we learn about how to describe typical cooking ingredients, utensils and measurements in English whilst we learn about the recipes that we’ll be cooking in the following weeks)
  • Pasta time: We will learn about the different noodles that exist around the world as we make our own pasta! Italian flag truffles​
  • Italian chocolates: We will learn about our senses and how to describe different tastes and smells for our taste books whilst making incredible chocolates)
  • Do you like pizza? We will learn how to ask people about their food preferences to find out the world’s best pizza topping.
